Mount Toc

Summary

• Mount Toc is a mountain in Northern Italy best known for the Vajont Dam, which was built at the mountain's base in 1960. In 1963, 350 million cubic meters of rock slid down the side of Mount Toc and plunged into the reservoir created by the Vajont Dam, creating a 100-meter wave that came over the dam wall and destroyed the town of Longarone, killing 2600 people.
