Royal Canadian Navy

Summary

• The Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) was the navy of Canada from 1911 until 1968 when the three branches of the Canadian military were merged into the Canadian Armed Forces. The modern Canadian navy has been known as Canadian Forces Maritime Command (MARCOM) since unification but still refers to itself as the "Navy" and maintains many of the traditions of the RCN.
