S1C reactor

Summary

• The S1C (first Submarine core by Combustion Engineering) reactor was built in Windsor Locks, Connecticut as a prototype for a new class of submarines, the USS Tullibee (SSN-597), which was in fact powered by an S2C reactor. The propulsion is unusual in that it is electric drive, rather than steam turbine.
