Turrialba
Summary
- The Turrialba volcano was named by early Spanish settlers who called it Torre Alba, or white tower because of the plumes of smoke that were emitted from its summit during colonial days. The volcano is 3,329 meters high and is about 15 minutes from the Atlantic slope town of Turrialba.
